Camp....what could I possibly say other than fun and exhausting all at the same time. There were only around 25 kids, but wow did they take a lot of energy to keep busy and lead in activities. I had the lowest level group too, which can often be even more exhausting, as they are so much more clueless and often require a lot more patience. Around Tues. night after a day and a half of things, my voice starting faltering and it wasn't long till Wed. morning and my voice was pretty much shot for the next 2 days. I still had to yell, as much as it hurt and I didn't want to, but there just wasn't a whole lot I could do to ease things. Bout the only thing I could do was laugh at my puberty ridden little boy voice for a couple days until I could rest a little more. We finished up Friday afternoon, and I can't quite express how happy i was to go home to our quiet, non-kiddy aparte to peace and solitude. After a week of badly cooked korean cafeteria food, the first thing I did after showering off all my filth was cook up some good 'ol normal american spaghetti. Following that, I crashed onto our sofa-ish bed that's in the living room and promptly set about ridding myself of the endless cycle of kiddy camp songs that had been running in my head since the monday before. Apparently I didn't need much prompting to relax cuz I was out cold thus sprawled out for around 3 hours. I guess I needed to make up for not having gotten 1 full nights sleep for the last 5 days prior.
Clinton and I went hiking Sat. up the little mountain (yeah...i know...oximoronic, but it is small compared to the others). It's a little hiking area that's just minutes away from where we live, but still in the middle of the woods. Korea's funny that way. Where people actually live, the lego style high rises are stacked nearly upon each other, but just outside the natural beauty of the forests and mountains are pretty much left alone. I haven't been hiking in a while and was huffing and puffing a little more than I would have liked, but we had a pretty good time talking walking and such. We found some cool look out points that I hadn't seen before. I'll have to get up there with my digital next time and take a few shots of Uijeoungbu to send on home.
I went into Seoul on Sat. night too, to meet up with Nora, my peruvian friend. I hadn't seen her in around a month and it was good to sit and talk. We met up at Geckos, a bar in the foreign district. It's was crawling with army guys, as usual, but it had been so long since I had been there. We got to talking with a bunch of latin army guys and had a good time. Then we bounced around from one place to another, dancing and meeting others. It was a better time than we had had in a while. People were pretty friendly, or maybe it was just that I was in a better mood and seemed happier to approach. That can make quite a difference. Either way, lots of folks talked to us and we had a good time.

Hmmm....just about lunch time and I'm already tired, after only having taught 1 of my 7 classes today. Ah...well....i'll go to bed earlier tonight and things'll be better tomorrow. It's just a little weird being back at school after not being here all last week.
